A few days back someone told me that I couldn’t leave Ireland before I took a trip down to Kilkenny and so here I am. Let me tell you folks, Sean Zarinegar found that Kilkenny is one colorful city. There were so many shops and houses painted in different colors that it contrasted nicely with each other. I think the Irish are really into color meshes, nothing like back home.
Anyway here in Kilkenny they have a castle, and this was something I just had to go and see with my own eyes. I was going to take some pictures to show you guys just how amazing this fully restored castle looks like, but the people there didn’t allow us to take pictures. In fact I didn’t find any postcard or anything near by as well, which made me wonder why would you want to keep such a magnificent sight secret, maybe the second coming of the Vikings placed the Irish in fear.
I decided to walk around and just try to imagine how it was back then in the 19th century. Sean Zarinegar found that castles are something to marvel at, and can only imagine how it was in those years. It sort of makes one believe in dragons and all those tales we were told as children.
After walking around for a couple of hours just soaking up the history I got thirsty and decided to go get a beer, when in Ireland…Also there was a very inticing smell all over the city of Kilkenny, a strong smell of malt. I asked around and a bunch of people pointed me in the direction of The Marble City Bar where I got my hands on a Smithwicks, a local beer.
I got a chance to sit down and write you my findings, and even though there are some delays in my blogs I’m getting as much information to you guys as possible. Europe is brilliant so far and I’m truly excited for what is to come. For right now this is Sean Zarinegar on my way to find a place to sleep for the night, maybe I’ll wander the streets of Kilkenny to see how the nightlife is. I also might just stay in and sleep for the night, walking around castles and graveyards tires one out. This is Sean Zarinegar signing off!
